Let it be me!

Rose is red. Violet is blue.
Ready or not. Today I’m 22!

Yes, I’m turning to 22, today!
I remember that I was so excited to grow up and my birthday party was the greatest day of the year. As many children’s wish, I wanted to be matured as soon as possible so that I could do anything I want. However, time flies. People change. I soon figured out that being an adult is not as funny as I expected, at all. Ridiculously, I wish I could be a kid forever, or else, I could just be an 18-year-old girl for an infinite time. I mean, I could have my birthday every single year, but my age would not go up. Forever 18!
Why?

18 is the age that I still lived with my family without any worries about complicated stuff coming up. My youth was totally pink! How great it was to be young, wild and free! But at the point I reached 19 and went to study abroad in the U.S., I knew that I would never come back to my beautiful time. I knew that life is not as easy as I lived with my Mom. She was not beside me to deal with troubles. I knew that I had to be responsible for everything I did, not my Dad. I knew that I only had myself sometimes to talk with, not with my brother as usual...
Let forget about sad things!

What I am trying to say is that you might miss a lot of things when you grow up. And you hardly notice that losing is happening until something bad knocks you out. An eagerness of being an innocent kid comes back. At some points in your life, you will think like me- wish to be a child forever.
But (everything behind this ‘but’ is more important), life is life and you have to grow up! You have to be the one who could cry badly in a car at night due to an argument with your co-worker, but in the next morning, you wake up and try to smile to go through the day. That is called maturity.

And it is normal. We are happy, sad, excited, depressed all the time. Nevertheless, trust me, find someone to talk with whenever you feel empty from inside. It might be not a piece of wise advice from a 22-year-old girl who knows nothing about life (yes, it’s me!). But I believe, as long as you have someone to confide with and you release the best version of you in front of them, you will find hard to get lost in this crazy life.
Recently, I fell in love with Ray LaMontagne music. He has such a beautiful song named “Let it be me”. You should listen to his music by any chance since it saved my soul naturally. The song basically points out a simple thing. If you need someone to talk, to call or to share anything in your life, LET IT BE ME! And who knows, I will need you to listen to my stupid stuff or to read these crazy things. If then, LET IT BE ME! :)

P/s: Happy 22nd birthday to me! :)
